An Exclusive Retreat at HKG

Cathay Pacific’s The Wing Business Class Lounge in Hong Kong stands out among the airline's impressive range of lounges at its main hub. Known for its stellar food and beverage offerings and plush seating arrangements, The Wing delivers an unforgettable travel experience.

Getting Access: Who's In?

Access to The Wing is like entering an elite club, reserved for oneworld sapphire and emerald members, and business class passengers flying with a oneworld carrier. A special perk allows you to bring one guest in if entering via status, while ticketed business class travelers can enjoy the lounge solo. Cathay Pacific Silver Status holders on eligible flights can also step into this luxurious oasis.

Location and Opening Hours

Conveniently located near security and passport control in Terminal 1 (Level 6, near Gate 2), The Wing welcomes travelers from 5:30 AM to 12:30 AM. Whether you prefer to ascend via stairs or elevator, accessing this lounge is a breeze after check-in.

Seating: Comfort Awaits!

Step inside, and you'll find a spacious area divided into business class and first class sections (currently undergoing refurbishment). The business class zone features a variety of seating options, from plush couches to cozy chairs, all designed for relaxation or focusing on last-minute travel arrangements. For an even quieter atmosphere, venture towards the back where you’ll discover additional seating away from the bustle.

Culinary Delights: A Feast Awaits!

The highlight of The Wing is undoubtedly its noodle bar, where diners can indulge in made-to-order soup, noodles, and dim sum—a culinary adventure that’s hard to resist. Adding to this dining experience is The Coffee Loft, serving up signature brews and delectable pastries, all crafted with finesse.

In the main lounge area, The Long Bar features a chic marble design offering a range of drinks, from soft drinks to beer. The buffet spreads include an array of Western cuisine, boasting items like spicy tortilla soup, beef meatballs, oven-roasted vegetables, and pasta arrabbiata.

Facilities: Refresh and Revive

While The Wing boasts well-maintained washrooms, it’s worth noting that the business class side does not include shower facilities—an aspect to consider if you're familiar with other Cathay Pacific lounges, such as The Pier, which provides these refreshing amenities.

Final Thoughts: A Lounge Like No Other!

Overall, The Wing offers a delightful business class lounge experience with a delightful culinary selection and attentive service. While my personal preference leans toward The Pier, and I also find the Qantas Lounge more preferable, The Wing remains a phenomenal spot worth visiting if it's convenient to your departure gate. So, if you find yourself at Hong Kong International Airport, make sure to arrive early and enjoy all that this upscale lounge has to offer!
