According to Propstore, the esteemed auction house based in Buckinghamshire, this sale marks the highest price ever paid for a Star Wars item at auction. Brandon Alinger, Propstore's chief operating officer, expressed his excitement: "To witness a Star Wars lightsaber—an emblem of one of cinema's greatest sagas—attain such a remarkable value is incredibly special."

While the auction took place in California, a significant number of the showcased lots originated from UK productions. A bullwhip, belt, and holster crafted for Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade sold for an impressive $485,100 (£360,000).

The auction also featured other notable memorabilia, including a Platform 9 3/4 sign from the beloved Harry Potter films, which, despite an estimated value of $20,000 (£14,925) to $40,000 (£29,850), soared to a remarkable $138,600 (£102,573).
