Cyberpunk 2077 Takes the Stage on Nintendo Switch 2
Get ready for an electrifying launch! CD Projekt RED has officially revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be one of the flagship titles for the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. During a recent event in London, the gaming community got a glimpse of the game in progress, leaving many questions hanging in the air—until now.
Nvidia DLSS: A Game-Changer for the Switch 2
You heard it right—Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2 will use Nvidia's revolutionary DLSS technology! This makes it the first game confirmed to employ the machine learning-based upscaling feature, designed to deliver stunning visuals while maintaining performance.
"We're leveraging a version of DLSS optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2, utilizing Nvidia's powerful Tensor cores," CD Projekt RED stated. The game will support DLSS across all modes—handheld and docked—providing players with options to adjust quality and performance.
The Magic of DLSS Explained
DLSS has been dubbed a 'magic bullet' for next-gen gaming, especially crucial for portable consoles like the Switch 2. Developers often can't achieve full native resolution without sacrificing performance, so they render at lower resolutions and upscale using sophisticated technologies. DLSS takes this a step further by using neural networks to reconstruct images, enhancing detail and clarity.
Diverse Graphics Modes to Enhance Gameplay
CD Projekt RED is gearing up to offer players a variety of graphics modes. When docked, gamers can choose between a quality mode that targets 30fps at 1080p and a performance mode that aims for a smoother 40fps. Of course, to achieve this high frame rate, the TV needs to support 120Hz.
For handheld mode, the quality setting will still deliver a 1080p output at 30fps, while the performance mode will drop the resolution to 720p, once again targeting 40fps.
