Colin Egglesfield, the beloved actor known for his roles in *All My Children* and *Melrose Place*, has bravely announced that his prostate cancer has returned for the third time. The 51-year-old shared this heartbreaking news with his followers on Instagram on January 23, explaining that the start of this year has been particularly tough for him.

In his touching post, Egglesfield emphasized the importance of self-advocacy in health matters: “Hopefully this is a reminder to everyone that you’re not alone with whatever you’re facing and that it’s important to advocate for yourself and your health, which includes checkups, seeking information, and asking for help when you need it.”

After months of diligent research and consultations with health care professionals, Egglesfield chose to undergo surgery at the City of Hope Center in Phoenix after the cancer was detected early. He was initially diagnosed with testicular cancer back in 2006. Just as he was starting his role as Josh Madden in *All My Children*, he underwent surgery, but within a year, he learned the cancer had spread to his other testicle.

In a poignant display of vulnerability, Egglesfield shared an image of his abdomen post-surgery alongside a picture of himself using a walker with the help of medical staff. He also included an inspiring quote from a past interview: "It’s not the hand that you've been dealt because you can’t change that. It’s how you play the cards that counts."

Recently, Egglesfield has been on the mend at home, expressing relief after just a couple of days in the hospital following his surgery. “From what the doctor said, he said surgery went really well,” he noted.

Despite battling soreness, he seems optimistic about his recovery, crediting the compassionate staff at City of Hope for their support. Egglesfield shared that he had his first post-surgery check-up and received encouraging news: “Things are on track, and I’m feeling positive large part due to the amazing peeps at @cityofhope hospital and their incredible @cityofhopecancerfighters team.”

He reflected on the mix of emotions he’s experienced throughout this ordeal—gratitude, fear, hope, frustration, anger, and even folly—while finding solace in approaching each day as it comes.

As fans rally around him with love and support, Egglesfield’s resilience and openness about his journey continue to inspire many who may be facing similar battles. Stay tuned for updates on his recovery as he navigates this challenging chapter of his life.
