In a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, host Josh Horowitz quizzed Murphy about rampant fan speculation suggesting he would take on the iconic role of the Dark Lord in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV series. The character, famously embodied by Ralph Fiennes in the original films, has become a topic of fervent discussion among the franchise's die-hard fans.

Murphy swiftly put the rumors to rest, stating, “No, my kids show me it occasionally, but no, I don’t know anything about that. I mean, also, it’s just really hard to follow anything Ralph Fiennes does. The man is an absolute acting legend. So, good luck to whoever is going to fill those shoes.”
