Get ready for a travel boom! Cathay Pacific Group has unveiled exciting plans to ramp up its operations in Mainland China for the upcoming northern summer season, capitalizing on a rapidly increasing demand for cross-border travel.
Starting in April, the airline group—which includes Cathay Pacific and its budget brand HK Express—will soar to new heights with up to 300 return flights weekly. This impressive number marks a staggering 40% increase compared to schedules in 2023, showcasing a robust recovery in the aviation sector.
Cathay Pacific Group proudly serves a total of 20 destinations in Mainland China and is set to introduce new flights to the vibrant city of Urumqi in Xinjiang province. This expansion reflects their commitment to enhancing connectivity and offering more options to travelers.
Major metropolises like Beijing and Shanghai are in the spotlight, as Cathay Pacific designates these cities as two of its “major national strategic areas.” Travelers can expect a significant boost in service frequency, with Cathay operating seven daily flights to Beijing Capital Airport, while HK Express will launch daily flights to Beijing Daxing Airport. Shanghai will also enjoy enhanced services, with Cathay operating eight flights each day to Shanghai Pudong and an additional 11 weekly flights to Shanghai Hongqiao.
But that's not all! Cathay will bolster services to Zhengzhou, Haikou, and Chongqing, transitioning from four weekly flights to daily operations. HK Express is also stepping up with daily flights to Ningbo, ensuring that even more travelers can explore this dynamic region. Additional frequency increases are expected for cities like Hangzhou, Nanjing, and Wenzhou.
Cathay Pacific emphasized that these enhancements are designed to strengthen direct services between Hong Kong and Mainland China, while also meeting the burgeoning two-way travel demand from the global market. The ultimate goal? To provide customers with a more efficient and flexible travel experience.
This strategic expansion aligns with the airline's objective to establish a network encompassing over 100 cities by the end of the year, marking a significant milestone after two challenging years of pandemic recovery. As global travel resumes, Cathay Pacific Group is poised to meet the needs of modern travelers with confidence and ambition.
So, whether you're planning a business trip or a vacation adventure, Cathay Pacific and HK Express are ready to take you to new horizons this summer! Don't miss out on your next travel opportunity! ✈️🌟
