In a shocking turn of events, Kyiv authorities have linked a weekend assassination to Russia, following the murder of a prominent pro-Western Ukrainian politician, Andriy Parubiy, who was brutally gunned down in broad daylight on Saturday.

Parubiy, a former parliamentary speaker and an influential figure in Ukraine's pro-European movements tackling corruption and advocating for independence, was shot eight times in the charming city of Lviv, located close to the Polish border.

The suspect, captured early Monday morning, was claimed to have been disguised as a delivery worker from Glovo. Eyewitnesses were stunned as the assailant calmly fired at Parubiy before making a hasty escape.
