In a thrilling showdown at the Craig Jones Invitational 2 in Las Vegas, B-Team clinched a jaw-dropping $1 million prize, thanks to the stellar performances of Victor Hugo and Nicky Rod.

On the action-packed second day, Craig Jones sweetened the pot with a $50,000 submission bonus, making the stakes even higher. Hugo, a five-time IBJJF world champion, showcased his skills by submitting Fabricio Andrey with a decisive arm-triangle choke, setting the tone for his team's success.

Despite battling injuries, Team Australasia's Belal Etiabari, who fractured his foot in the quarterfinals, fought valiantly but fell short against Hugo’s aggressive tactics. Earning an additional $100,000 from his semifinal wins, Hugo's submission prowess was undeniable.

Meanwhile, New Wave secured their place in the finals by defeating Team Americas. A nail-biting semifinal saw Luke Griffith dominate Diego Pato only to lose to Felipe Pena; however, teammate Giancarlo Bodoni redeemed the team with a crucial submission against Ronaldo Junior.

As the final approached, B-Team chose Chris Wojcik to kick off the match against New Wave's Mica Galvao. While Wojcik fought hard to survive a last-second ankle lock, both grapplers ended up being eliminated, raising the tension.

Victor Hugo returned after his impressive semifinal performance to face the seasoned Vagner Rocha. They battled fiercely, but Rocha managed to escape several submission attempts, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

In a compelling rematch, Ethan Crelinsten from B-Team faced Dorian Olivarez from New Wave. Olivarez showcased his grappling skills with relentless pressure but couldn't secure a submission.

The match climaxed as two titans, Nicky Rod and 2024 ADCC silver medalist Luke Griffith, took center stage in the final duel. After an intense three-minute stand-off, Rod finally took Griffith down and attempted a choke, but time expired with no clear victor.

The judges' decision revealed a dramatic 47-47 draw, meaning the final match determined the winner. Rod's execution earned B-Team not just glory but an impressive $1 million.

In other highlight news, Helena Crevar shined in the inaugural women’s $100,000 tournament, tapping out Sarah Galvao with a slick ankle lock to claim the cash prize. With her earlier victory over Adele Fornarino, Crevar showcased her determination and skill throughout the competition.
