In a shocking turn of events, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) health ministry has announced that a mysterious disease plaguing its citizens is actually a severe form of malaria. This revelation comes after the disease claimed the lives of 143 people in the south-western Kwango province just within the month of November alone.

Authorities reported alarming symptoms among the afflicted, including fever, headaches, coughing, runny noses, and body aches. “The mystery has finally been solved. It’s a case of severe malaria manifesting as a respiratory illness,” the health ministry stated on Tuesday.
