India Reports First Case of Clade 1b Mpox

In a startling development, India has confirmed its first case of the new mpox strain, prompting a public health alert from the World Health Organization (WHO). This strain, known as clade 1b, is notorious for its high transmissibility and is believed to be linked to recent outbreaks in Africa.
