AECOM, a renowned leader in global infrastructure development, has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Johnny Cheuk as the new Leader of its Hong Kong operations, effective April 1, 2025. In this pivotal role, Dr. Cheuk will be at the helm of a diverse team consisting of over 4,400 professionals dedicated to Design and Consulting Services and Site Offices.

Responsibilities of Dr. Cheuk

Dr. Cheuk's primary responsibilities will include orchestrating business growth strategies, enhancing client services, and streamlining project delivery. He will also oversee operations management in a city that's rapidly evolving economically and socially.

Dr. Cheuk's Background

Having joined AECOM in 2005, Dr. Cheuk has built a formidable reputation in the industry. He previously led significant projects such as the West Kowloon Station on the MTRC Express Rail Link and the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link tunnels. His exceptional contributions to engineering were recognized in 2013 when he was named Young Engineer of the Year by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).

Contributions to the Engineering Community

In parallel to his role at AECOM, Dr. Cheuk is an active figure in the engineering community, holding several prestigious positions. He is currently the Vice Chair of the ICE Hong Kong Association and serves as a Council Member of HKIE. His leadership is further highlighted by his appointment as Chairman of the HKIE Geotechnical Division for the 2022/2023 term. In academia, Dr. Cheuk lends his expertise as an Adjunct Professor at both the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
