At Computex 2025 in Taiwan, Acer is pulling back the curtain on a stunning lineup of up-and-coming laptops, including the eye-catching Swift Edge 14 AI. Weighing in at half a pound less than the MacBook Air, this sleek device is designed to challenge Apple's reign in the ultra-portable market.
Acer is showcasing over a dozen new models, powered by the latest processors from tech giants like Intel, AMD, and Nvidia, as well as some innovative options from Qualcomm with Windows on Arm. Additionally, players in the gaming world can expect new creator-focused monitors to elevate their setups.
A New Contender Emerges: Swift Edge 14 AI
The Swift Edge 14 AI stands out with its impressive specs: a 14-inch OLED display boasting a resolution of 2880 x 1800, powered by Intel's advanced Lunar Lake chips. With configurations offering up to 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, it's built for both productivity and entertainment. Its ultra-thin profile, measuring between 0.37 and 0.65 inches thick and weighing under 2.2 pounds, positions it as an appealing alternative to the M4 MacBook Air, which is thicker and heavier.
Despite its lightweight design, Acer packs in a robust set of features including two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A ports, a headphone jack, and an HDMI 2.1 port. The Swift Edge is expected to launch in Europe starting at €1,599 (approximately $1,800) this June.
Gaming Performance: The Predator Triton 14 AI
On the gaming front, the Predator Triton 14 AI is turning heads with its promise of portability combined with power. Unlike its bulkier counterparts, this model aims to compete with slim gaming laptops like the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, weighing around 3.5 pounds and measuring just 0.68 inches thick.
This laptop boasts a stunning 14.5-inch OLED display with a 2880 x 1800 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, perfectly tailored for gaming and content creation. Equipped with an Intel Arrow Lake Core Ultra 9 288V processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, it's also compatible with Nvidia Studio drivers for creatives. However, it comes at a premium, starting at €2,999 (about $3,350) when it launches in Europe in July.
Acer's Expanding Laptop Family
Additional exciting entries include the Aspire 14 AI and 16 AI, customizable with AMD, Intel, or Qualcomm processors, along with the budget-friendly Swift Go 14 AI and Swift Go 16 AI. There's also the Predator Helios Neo 14, an economical option in Acer's gaming line.
Cutting-Edge Monitors to Complement the Lineup
Acer is also debuting two impressive 27-inch QD-OLED monitors. The flagship Predator X27 X can achieve a jaw-dropping 240Hz at 4K, while the X27U F5 model hits an astonishing 500Hz at 2560 x 1440. They are priced at €1,099 (around $1,230) and €899 (about $1,000), respectively, and are set to arrive in Q3. Additionally, there are more budget-friendly Nitro monitors and high-performance options, such as the 6K ProCreator PE320QXT.
With Acer's ambitious launch, it's clear the company is committed to making a splash in the laptop market. As we await further details on U.S. pricing and availability, tech enthusiasts are eager to see how these new models will reshape their options.
