A High-Octane Pursuit Unfolds!
Fast forward to just after 11 PM, and another carjacking erupted near Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue East. This time, a stolen BMW X5 targeted a luxurious Rolls Royce parked in a mall lot. Three suspects emerged from the SUV, brandishing a handgun, and demanded the keys to the upscale vehicle.
The trio successfully made off with the Rolls Royce, heading off in tandem with the stolen BMW.
Takedown Turmoil: A Dramatic Fall!
Swift police response, including assistance from the York Regional Police Air Support Unit, led to a high-risk takedown as the suspects sped along the Gardiner Expressway. As officers closed in, the driver of the BMW desperately fled on foot and fell a dizzying 17 meters onto Lake Shore Boulevard below.
While he sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, investigators from the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) are looking into the events leading up to his fall. No physical contact was reported between the officers and the suspect during the pursuit.

In the midst of this chaos, the remaining carjackers smashed through a barricade, evading police. Although the Rolls Royce was later recovered, the other suspects vanished into thin air.
