A Weekend of Armed Theft Unfolds!

In a shocking turn of events this past weekend, a series of armed robberies erupted across the city, leading to multiple arrests that have left residents on edge.

Friday's Frightening Encounter!

On Friday, June 6, at 6:00 p.m., chaos ignited in the 100 block of Primrose Drive when a suspect confronted Loss Prevention Officers (LPO) with a knife after being caught trying to steal. With a distinct appearance—around 30 years old, sporting a goatee and leg tattoos, clad in a white shirt, black bunnyhug, camouflage shorts, a yellow hat, and black shoes—the man made a quick escape after relinquishing the stolen items.

Bear Spray Mayhem on Saturday!

Saturday brought more drama at a store on 22nd Street West when, at 5:45 p.m., a man unleashed bear spray on LPOs before bolting with stolen merchandise. Fortunately, law enforcement tracked him down and arrested the 20-year-old on Avenue Y South. He now faces serious charges, including four counts of assault and two weapons-related offenses.

Double Trouble: Sunday Shoplifting Scare!

The mayhem didn't stop there. Just before 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, two women, ages 26 and 29, were caught red-handed shoplifting at a store on Confederation Drive. As they were apprehended, one brandished bear spray in a desperate bid to escape. In the end, both were charged with serious offenses including Robbery and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, after officers discovered stolen clothing and a knife on them.

A Brazen Theft Attempt Concludes the Weekend!

As the sun set on Sunday, June 8, at approximately 8:00 p.m., another alarming incident occurred at a store on Wellman Crescent. A man boldly walked out of the self-checkout with unpaid items and threatened store security with a knife when confronted. Luckily, the quick-acting officer managed to retrieve both the stolen goods and the knife before the thief escaped on a bicycle.

Police Search for Known Suspects!

Law enforcement agencies are now on the lookout for these suspects, all facing grave charges in connection to these brazen acts of violence and theft. If you have any information, be sure to reach out to the Saskatoon Police Service or Crime Stoppers to help bring these criminals to justice.

Stay safe, Saskatoon! This weekend has been a stark reminder of the importance of community vigilance.
