Attention residents of Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent! Authorities are sounding the alarm as new measles exposure locations are reported across the region.
Key Exposure Locations You Need to Know
Chatham-Kent Public Health has confirmed one new location, while the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) has identified four critical spots. If you’ve been to any of the following places during the specified times, it’s crucial to take action!
In Chatham, the St. Clair College Chatham Campus at 1001 Grand Avenue West was a risk zone on May 5, between 10:45 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Windsor-Essex locations include:
- **Erie Shores HealthCare** at 194 Talbot Street West, Leamington: May 2, from 11 p.m. to midnight in the emergency department.
- **Windsor Essex Community Health Centre** at 33 Princess Street, Leamington: April 28, from 2:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- **Windsor Regional Hospital - Met Campus** at 1995 Lens Avenue, Windsor: May 4, from 8:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the emergency department.
- **Toy Box Early Childhood Learning Centre** at 2475 McDougall Street, Windsor: April 29, from 7:55 a.m. to 6:35 p.m.; April 30, 8:30 a.m. to 5:10 p.m.; May 1, 8:10 a.m. to 5:10 p.m.; and May 2, 8:15 a.m. to 6:40 p.m.
What to Do If You Were Exposed
If you were at any of these locations during the specified times and aren't fully vaccinated, you MUST contact CK Public Health immediately at 519-352-7270 ext. 5902. The health unit urges everyone to monitor for measles symptoms for up to 21 days post-exposure.
