Community Health Warning: Measles Alert!

CK Public Health has just issued a critical warning to residents regarding two new measles exposures that could affect many in the community.

Details of the Exposures

Here’s what you need to know: – **Dollarama, Thames-Lea Plaza** (603 Grand Ave., W., Chatham) on **April 12, 2025**, from **6 p.m. to 9 p.m.** – **No Frills, Tilbury** (59 Mill St., E., Tilbury) on **April 14, 2025**, from **5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.**

What to Do If You Were There

If you were at these locations during these times and haven't kept your vaccinations up to date, it's crucial to act now! Call CK Public Health immediately at **519-352-7270 ext. 5902**.

If you're experiencing symptoms that might suggest measles—such as fever, runny nose, cough, drowsiness, irritability, and red eyes—be vigilant. The classic red rash typically appears on the face 3 to 7 days after these initial signs. This rash can rapidly spread down the body.

Vaccination: Your Best Defense

Fortunately, the majority of people in the community are vaccinated, which significantly lowers the risk of widespread transmission. However, public health officials stress the importance of ensuring that you and your family are fully up to date on all vaccinations to protect yourselves and others.

Stay safe, stay informed, and make sure you're protected!
