Alberta Health Services (AHS) has issued a critical public advisory following the confirmation of a new measles case in southern Alberta, specifically in the Taber region. This alarming development raises concerns about potential exposure for individuals in nearby communities.
Exposure Locations
The public should be especially vigilant if they were present at the following locations during the specified times:
- **The Colosseum** (450 31 Street N. suite 70, Lethbridge) - **Exposure Time:** March 22, 2025, from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- **Coulee Medical Clinic** (4110A Westview Place, Taber) - **Exposure Time:** March 27, 2025, from approximately 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Individuals who were at these locations during the mentioned times might have been exposed to the measles virus and are advised to monitor for symptoms. Early symptoms of measles typically manifest as a high fever (38.3 degrees Celsius or higher), followed by a cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a characteristic rash. The rash usually appears three to seven days after the onset of the fever, starting behind the ears and on the face before spreading to the rest of the body.
