The project, aptly named ‘RadioLuna,’ will deploy a constellation of small satellites in lunar orbit to capture elusive radio signals from the era known as the cosmic ‘dark ages.’

Why the Moon?

These faint signals, which originate from a time when the universe was predominantly filled with hydrogen gas, are nearly impossible to detect from Earth due to rampant radio interference. By utilizing the Moon as a vantage point, the RadioLuna project aims to capture these crucial FM-range signals without interruption.

A Bold Step in Space Exploration

This study will assess the feasibility of operating CubeSats equipped with off-the-shelf commercial components in lunar orbit. By leveraging existing lunar communication initiatives like ESA's Moonlight and NASA's Artemis programs, RadioLuna seeks to establish a robust infrastructure that enhances scientific discovery.
