Additionally, the team stumbled upon the Slosarczykovia circumantarctica, a squid characterized by its translucent body, offering an astonishing view of its internal organs, including the digestive tract. Its large, glowing eyes are perfectly adapted for the pitch-black depths where sunlight is a mere myth.

The Big Reveal: Alluroteuthis Antarctiucus

Describing it as the expedition’s "biggest surprise," the researchers also documented Alluroteuthis antarcticus at an impressive depth of 1,500 meters (4,921 feet). Among the highlights, a striking scarlet individual was spotted gripping its prey—potentially a fellow squid—notably showcasing the fierce and competitive nature of life in the ocean.
