In his festive post, Trump stated, “Merry Christmas to all, including to the wonderful soldiers of China, who are lovingly, but illegally, operating the Panama Canal.” He controversially claimed that “38,000 people” perished during the canal's construction, a figure vastly exaggerated from estimates that suggest around 300 deaths—an assertion that has raised eyebrows among fact-checkers.

Trump continued with sharp criticism of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, referring to him as the “Governor” of Canada, and reigniting his advocacy for Canada to become the “51st State.” He touted that joining the U.S. would lead to a stunning 60% tax reduction and a boon for Canadian businesses, promising they would “immediately double in size,” with the added security of U.S. military protection.
