Search Efforts Conclude for Missing Woman
The search and rescue operation for a 41-year-old woman, who mysteriously vanished aboard a ferry between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, has officially come to an end, leaving many stunned.
In a statement from Lt.-Cmdr. Len Hickey at the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax, it was revealed that all search aircraft and ships have now returned to their bases after unsuccessful efforts.
Last Sighting on the Ferry
Authorities reported that the woman was last seen around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, as she traveled on the Marine Atlantic Blue Puttees ferry from North Sydney, N.S., to Port aux Basques, N.L.
Brave Search Efforts Unfold
The extensive search involved a Hercules plane, a Cormorant helicopter, as well as a coast guard ship and a civilian aircraft, combing the waters south of Port aux Basques. Despite these exhaustive measures, no trace of the woman was found.
