Heartbreaking Incident on Bowen Road

In a devastating turn of events, a 25-year-old man visiting from the United States lost his life in a tragic early morning car crash in Nanaimo on September 14.

Details of the Accident

Emergency services rushed to the scene at Bowen Road, near Pryde Avenue, shortly after 2 a.m. when a vehicle veered out of control and rolled over. Reserve Constable Gary O’Brien reported that the car was traveling northbound before it inexplicably lost control, crossed into the opposing lane, and collided with a light pole.

Victim and Survivor Information

Sadly, the driver succumbed to his injuries on-site, while the passenger survived with minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for precautionary evaluation. Reports indicate that the victim had been enjoying his time in Nanaimo and was expected to head back to the U.S. for work shortly.
