June 11: A Day of Fear on the TTC

The unsettling incidents unfolded on June 11, when Rodriguez approached his first victim near Keele Street and Finch Avenue West around 4:15 p.m. The woman, sensing danger, fled and quickly boarded a northbound bus.

Followed and Harassed: The Suspect Strikes Again

However, his pursuit didn’t end there. After arriving at Pioneer Village subway station, he reappeared, continuing to harass her. In a desperate move, she alerted a TTC employee, prompting Rodriguez to flee the scene.

The Assault: Another Victim in Distress

But the nightmare didn’t stop. About 30 minutes later, Rodriguez allegedly approached another woman at a bus stop near Jane Street and Finch Avenue West. Disturbingly, he sexually assaulted this victim before relentlessly following her onto a bus, where he shouted at her until he eventually exited at Jane and Finch Mall.

Swift Justice: Arrest and Charges

The police worked rapidly to identify the suspect, unveiling his identity over the weekend. Rodriguez now faces serious charges, including sexual assault, criminal harassment, uttering threats, and theft under $5,000.
