Born in Toronto and raised in Ottawa, Johnston has always had a penchant for sports. He obtained his business degree from Queen’s University and embarked on a remarkable journey in 1997 that brought him to TSN. Over the next 25 years, he gained tremendous insights, ultimately serving as president and catapulting the network into a powerhouse in sports broadcasting.

Not only is Johnston known for his relentless passion for football, but he also possesses a sharp acumen for negotiating sports rights and distribution strategies. His leadership experience extends to overseeing a national advertising team comprising over 1,000 employees, setting trends in media buying by leveraging data and maximizing audience reach.
