A dramatic turn of events unfolded at the Canada-U.S. border as a man was apprehended by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) in the Niagara region, just days after allegedly committing a shocking stabbing in Toronto.
According to a police report released on Tuesday, officers responded to frantic calls about a stabbing early Sunday morning, shortly before 5 a.m., near Bellevue and Wales avenues. What they discovered was truly alarming.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds, alongside a female victim who had faced assault. The attacker, however, had vanished into thin air before the police could arrive.
Emergency services rushed the male victim to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, investigators worked swiftly to identify the suspect.
In a significant breakthrough, officers located and detained the suspect, 38-year-old Murtaza Khaja Sadiavia from Guelph, at the Queenston-Lewiston bridge in Niagara. He was subsequently returned to Toronto for further legal proceedings.
Sadiavia now faces serious charges, including attempted murder, assault, and criminal harassment. As these charges have yet to be proven in court, all eyes are on the upcoming proceedings.
