In a startling turn of events in Vancouver's bustling Gastown, police have unveiled a striking video capturing a chilling moment when a man brandished a knife at an unsuspecting stranger.

The incident unfolded around 3 p.m. last Friday, May 9, as a 62-year-old man strolled along Water Street. Out of nowhere, the assailant, described as a man aged between 35 and 45 with a thin build, emerged from the shadows. He pushed the victim from behind, swiftly pulled a large knife from his sleeve, and thrust it ominously toward the victim’s face.

Miraculously, the victim escaped without physical harm and reported the shocking attack to the authorities later that same day.

The suspect was dressed in dark pants, a dark jacket, and a baseball cap, and he fled the scene heading eastbound after the assault.
