Rory McIlroy is clearly not in the mood for interviews at the US Open, as he snubbed reporters for the second consecutive day.

This marks a staggering six rounds at major tournaments where the Northern Irish golfer has avoided the press. Previously, he turned down all interview requests at last month's US PGA, pointing to a prior incident where two journalists leaked information about his driver failing a USGA test, which added fuel to his media avoidance.

Fast forward to the US Open at Oakmont, and McIlroy has not changed his stance, continuing to refuse interviews after the first two rounds.

Despite a disappointing 2-over 72 on Friday, a late birdie on the 18th allowed him to just make the cut, but he heads into the weekend with a hefty 6-over par, sitting nine shots behind the leader, Sam Burns.

After signing his card, McIlroy was approached by a USGA official who asked if he was willing to speak to the media. In a clear dismissal, McIlroy simply replied, "No, I'm good," as he made his way to the clubhouse.

On the course, tensions were high—McIlroy was captured expressing his frustration by slamming his iron after a mis-hit on the 12th hole and later taking out his annoyance on a tee box marker on the 17th, actions that could lead to a hefty fine.

As Moving Day approaches at Oakmont, fans are left wondering if McIlroy can rally for a second US Open title and whether he’ll finally engage with the media.
