A Heartfelt Farewell
On May 26, 2025, we bid a sorrowful goodbye to Ronald Darcus, a beloved father whose spirit shone brightly with intelligence, humor, and kindness. After bravely battling Alzheimer's disease and cancer, he left us far too soon, just months after the passing of his wife, Iris.
A Journey Through Life
Born and raised on a picturesque orchard in Penticton, BC, Ron’s career trajectory took him to the cutting edge of engineering, covering radio, television, and telecommunications. His passion for innovation allowed him to explore the globe while contributing to a rapidly evolving industry.
A Legacy of Love and Curiosity
Ron’s profound love for family, the great outdoors, and especially the wonders of astronomy left an indelible mark on those around him. He enthusiastically shared his interests, cultivating a living legacy that will continue to inspire his loved ones.
A Community Man
For over two decades, Ron was a cherished member of the Pitt Meadows community, where his laughter and wisdom greatly enriched the lives of many. He is survived by his children, Patrick (Laurie) and Jeannine, as well as his granddaughter, Jettana.
Honoring His Memory
Join us in celebrating Ron's life at a service held at Pitt Meadows United Church, 12109 Harris Road, on Saturday, June 7 at 3 PM. Following the service, there will be a gathering in the hall. In memory of Ron, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the BC Cancer Foundation would be deeply appreciated.
