Dr. Gulliver is mourned by his beloved wife of 42 years, Beverly, along with their daughters Susanne and Julia, and grandson Lloyd. He is remembered as a dedicated father, husband, and grandfather, whose family was the cornerstone of his life.
A Legacy of Excellence in Medicine
From his modest beginnings in Rabbittown to becoming a champion of dermatological research, Dr. Gulliver excelled academically, earning his MD from Memorial University and completing his residency at McGill University. His pioneering research, including the groundbreaking discovery of the HLA-Cw6 gene for psoriasis, put Newfoundland and Labrador on the global genetic research map.
An Influential Leader
Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Gulliver held numerous leadership roles, notably being the first Newfoundland and Labradorian to chair the medicine department at Memorial University. His accolades included the prestigious Albert Neisser Award, revered as the 'Nobel Prize' of Dermatology.

Farewell Services
Dr. Gulliver will be honored at Carnell’s Funeral Home with visitation on September 9 and 10, 2025, and a funeral service at Gower Street United Church on September 11, 2025. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
