From a GoFundMe campaign to a heartwarming fundraising event at Dusty Ridge Equine Centre that included dinner and an auction, the community mobilized in every way possible. Within weeks, they raised nearly $80,000 to cover Tiarra's surgery.

Reflecting on the emotional whirlwind, Tiarra shared, "It’s been almost a year of highs and lows, dealing with extreme uncertainty. We’re grateful to be recovering now and can finally look toward the future." Her family played a significant role in comforting her through the distressing financial reality, urging her to focus on getting better rather than the daunting cost.

Successful Surgery and New Beginnings

On August 12th, Tiarra underwent a five-hour operation during which doctors successfully removed a stage 2 ependymoma tumor. The family held their breath, fearful of the worst outcomes—would she wake up able to walk, or even breathe independently? But as she slowly regained consciousness, moving her feet became a joyous reality. Tiarra exclaimed, "It was one blessing after another!"

Freed from the weight of uncertainty, Tiarra is eager to embrace life again fully. "I just want to take care of my kids and enjoy each moment without the shadow of this illness looming over us. My oldest is starting school soon, and I look forward to all the memories we’ll create together in the years to come."
