In a heartwarming turn of events, a two-year-old who went missing from a rural home in northwestern Alberta has been found safe and sound after a frantic overnight search.

The incident unfolded on Sunday night in Clear Hills County, sparking immediate action from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Fairview. The patrol quickly transitioned into a large-scale search operation, enlisting the help of search dogs, drone teams, and even firefighters.

But the community rallied like never before. Over 100 local volunteers joined the search effort, demonstrating incredible solidarity and concern for the missing child.

The tense search culminated in joy around 6 a.m. on Monday when a helicopter from Grande Prairie Technical Search and Rescue spotted the little one. Astonishingly, the toddler had wandered about one kilometre from home.

After being found, the child was assessed and deemed to be in good health, leading to a touching reunion with their family. This incident serves as a powerful reminder of community strength and the urgency of swift action in times of crisis.
