A new era has arrived in the world of Marvel Rivals, as Season 1 kicks off on January 10. Expect a thrilling addition of characters, balance modifications, and new challenges that will shake up the gaming landscape!

What’s Ahead for Season 1?

As the excitement brews, Marvel Rivals is set to introduce four stellar characters from the celebrated Fantastic Four. Fans will be delighted to see Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman joining the fray right from the season's start, while the Human Torch and The Thing will blaze their way into the game about six to seven weeks later.

But that’s just the beginning! This season will also unveil three captivating new maps all set against the surreal backdrop of a Dracula-claimed New York City. The maps include:

2. Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

3. Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

In the initial gameplay, the Midtown map will feature a new Convoy setup, challenging players to transport H.E.R.B.I.E from the famed Baxter Building to the Avengers Tower. Additionally, the Sanctum Sanctorum will host an exciting new Arcade game mode called Doom Match, where 8 to 12 players compete, and victory goes to the top 50%.

Rewards Galore with the New Battle Pass!

Season 1 will bring a brand-new Battle Pass filled with a wealth of rewards – double the content from last season! Players can unlock 10 unique costumes and a host of other goodies like Sprays, MVP screens, and nameplates. Noteworthy skins for popular heroes such as Loki, Wolverine, and Scarlet Witch are just a tease of what lies ahead.

The Luxury Battle Pass is available for 990 Lattice (approximately $9.99) and ensures players can earn back 600 Lattice and 600 Units through gameplay.

In a move to keep the competitive landscape lively, several heroes are getting adjustments. High-tier characters like Hawkeye and Hela are facing nerfs to reduce their overwhelming impact, thus allowing for more variety in team compositions. Meanwhile, fan-favorites like Captain America and Venom are getting significant buffs to add vigor to their gameplay.

Heroes specializing in unique strategies such as Wolverine and Storm will also see increases in their effectiveness, while Cloak & Dagger will be more potent with adjustments to their skills.

Competitive Scene Revamp

As player ranks reset, each competitor will drop seven divisions from their Season Zero standings. For example, a Platinum 1 rank will begin at Silver 2 in Season 1. In addition, a new rank called Celestial will emerge, slotting between Grandmaster and Eternity, complete with three divisions to explore.
