Reviving Nostalgia with a Modern Twist

Remember the mesmerizing split-flap displays that once adorned airports and train stations? The original Vestaboard brought them back to life with a contemporary twist, but at a hefty price tag of $3,499, it wasn't exactly pocket-friendly. Enter the Vestaboard Note, a compact and budget-friendly version now available for preorder starting at just $899, a significant drop from its original price of $1,299. Deliveries are set to begin in December 2025, making nostalgia more accessible!

Behind the Scenes: Design Challenges and Innovations

After dedicating over a year to develop an innovative model called the Smart Bits—aimed at revolutionizing Vestaboard's character displays—CEO Dorrian Porter and his team faced unexpected economic hurdles due to tariffs on Chinese goods. This led to a strategic pivot, resulting in the creation of the more affordable Vestaboard Note.

Sleek Design Meets Functionality

While the Note maintains the essence of the original Vestaboard, it streamlines the design by incorporating only 45 split-flap mechanisms, affectionately referred to as 'Bits.' Each Bit can display 64 alphanumeric characters, along with symbols, vibrant colors, and even a charming new red heart.

Smart Messaging at Your Fingertips

The Vestaboard Note measures 24.5 inches wide, or 28.4 inches with an optional bezel frame available for an additional $169. Users can easily create and customize messages, images, and patterns via a user-friendly web interface or a free mobile app compatible with both iOS and Android. Thanks to Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity, you can seamlessly send your creations. The app offers a plethora of features including scheduling messages, sharing with fellow Vestaboard users, and silencing notifications during designated hours—ensuring you're not disrupted in the middle of the night by those soothing spinning flaps!
