In the heart of North Saanich, Andy Robinson is cycling his way to victory against Parkinson’s disease. With 3.5 hours each week spent pedaling through virtual landscapes alongside friends battling the same condition, he's not just keeping fit but also nurturing a community of hope.

Robinson, like nearly 110,000 other Canadians, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s—a neurodegenerative disorder that progressively disrupts movement and can lead to devastating emotional challenges. While many may see a diagnosis as a devastating blow, for Robinson, it was an unexpected wake-up call.

His physical symptoms emerged slowly: a subtle change in his gait, a tight shoulder, and eventually, a tremor. Despite his concerns, the news of his diagnosis didn’t shatter him; rather, it propelled him into action. “It wasn’t actually as big a shock as I thought it would be,” he reflects.
