Gun-Toting Trio Busted in Mississauga Traffic Stops

In a startling turn of events, Peel Regional Police apprehended three individuals in two intense traffic stops this past Saturday in Mississauga. These stops revealed a shocking discovery: illegal firearms concealed in their vehicles.

The drama unfolded near the bustling intersection of Matheson Boulevard and Sismet Road, where police were conducting proactive patrols. During their routine checks, officers stopped the first vehicle, leading to the alarming find of a loaded Glock 17 equipped with an extended magazine, along with a stash of drugs.

Police revealed that the driver, identified as 22-year-old Luqman Khandid from Mississauga, was already prohibited from owning or even possessing firearms and wasn't legally allowed to drive.

Khandid now faces a slew of serious charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm and multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. However, it's crucial to note that these charges have yet to be tested in court.

Second Stop, Second Set of Arrests!

The thrill didn’t stop there! Shortly after the first arrest, officers executed another traffic stop—this time near Matheson Boulevard East and Satellite Drive—during a drug-related investigation. It was here that police allegedly uncovered a loaded Glock 27 on one of the vehicle's occupants.

The suspects, two 20-year-old males from Toronto, identified as Liban Abdillahi and Abdullahi Ali, were also taken into custody on a variety of gun-related offenses, again with actual guilt yet to be established in a court of law.
