Pierre Poilievre is ready to turn up the heat! Fresh off a stunning byelection victory in Alberta's Battle River-Crowfoot, the Conservative leader is back in the House of Commons and ready to hold Prime Minister Mark Carney accountable for his broken promises.
"It’s great to be back in action," Poilievre proclaimed with enthusiasm during his first press conference in British Columbia. This comes just days after his electoral comeback, reclaiming a seat after being unseated by Liberal MP Bruce Fanjoy in April.
Poilievre's return follows the resignation of Damien Kurek, the previous Conservative representative, who stepped down to allow Poilievre a second chance. Now, he's on a mission to challenge the Liberal government head-on.
"Mark Carney is just a walking, talking broken promise," Poilievre criticized, asserting that the fall session of Parliament will be dedicated to addressing the failures that are financially straining Canadian families and weakening the nation.
He didn't hold back, declaring, "We’re not just opposing the government’s reckless policies on crime, inflation, immigration, and soaring housing costs. We will propose practical solutions to enhance take-home pay, ensure safer streets, maintain secure borders, and promote a self-sufficient Canada."
In a biting jab, Poilievre also took Carney to task over the lack of a trade deal with the United States. "Where are Mark Carney’s elbows these days? He seems to have misplaced them. Concession after concession to President Trump has yielded nothing in return," he stated, referencing sentiments widely shared among Canadians during the tumultuous trade relations of the past.
With the fall session approaching, Poilievre is gearing up not just for opposition but for action, aiming to rally support for a stronger, more resilient Canada.
