Get ready for some fresh sounds coming from Google! In an exciting update, Google has revamped the voices for its highly anticipated Gemini-Assistant, originally introduced back in June for the Nest Mini and Audio.
Before the official launch, Google has decided to give most of these voices a new identity, maintaining their botanical theme while improving their appeal.
What’s New with the Voice Names?
Here’s the scoop—six out of the ten voices are getting new names. Out with the old, and in with the names that resonate better! For example, naming one voice “Violet” improves on the previous name, “Ivy,” which had a slightly sinister vibe.
Similarly, “Magnolia” seems more familiar and inviting compared to “Verbena.” Interestingly, the switch from “Calathea” to “Eucalyptus” seems to offer an upgrade in common recognition, making it easier for users to connect.
Voice Descriptions Updated!
Additionally, there’s a notable change in descriptions too: the voice formerly known as “Fern” is now characterized as “Warm” instead of “Bright.” Upon listening, many users might struggle to detect differences between the old voices and the new ones.
The Future of Google Assistant!
Google has hinted at some substantial improvements for Google Assistant following user feedback about its reliability. The buzz suggests that these enhancements are tied to the new Gemini framework, which might even signal the phasing out of the Assistant branding entirely.
In a surprising twist, “Gemini” will now extend beyond just home devices, making its way to Google TV. These exciting changes are slated for release this fall, after last year’s public testing.
Stay Tuned for More!
With major updates on the horizon, Google is paving the way for users to experience a whole new level of interaction with their smart devices. Keep your ears open for these fresh voices of the future!
