As classrooms prepare to welcome back students, it's critical for Grade 6 and Grade 8 pupils to get their routine immunizations. What Vaccines Will Students Receive?

Dr. Stanley Enebeli, the region's medical health officer, highlights the vaccines that will be administered: Grade 6 students will receive protection against human papillomavirus (HPV) and hepatitis B, while Grade 8 students will be vaccinated against meningococcal meningitis, tetanus, diphtheria, and hepatitis A. These vaccines are vital as exposure risk increases during the teenage years.

Why Are These Vaccines Critical?

"As children reach adolescence, their exposure to these viruses escalates, making it crucial to vaccinate them beforehand," Dr. Enebeli asserts. These vaccinations are designed to provide strong protection against common, vaccine-preventable diseases, safeguarding students during crucial developmental years.
