Didn’t snag a ticket to see George Clooney's electrifying Broadway debut in *Good Night, and Good Luck*? No worries! This past Saturday, CNN aired a live broadcast of the play’s second-to-last performance, delivering a captivating, commercial-free viewing experience straight into our homes.

Drawing inspiration from the acclaimed 2005 film, *Good Night, and Good Luck*, the stage adaptation features Clooney in the role of the iconic CBS journalist, Edward R. Murrow. Set against the tense backdrop of the 1950s, the narrative follows Murrow as he fearlessly confronts Senator Joseph McCarthy, who was notorious for leveling unchecked accusations of communism during the Cold War.

This gripping 100-minute performance unfolded without intermission, continuing its run since April 3 at New York's Winter Garden Theatre. Clooney, who directed the original film and portrayed Murrow's producer Fred Friendly, hands the reins of the character over to Glenn Fleshler in this staging. Clooney and his collaborator Grant Heslov crafted this powerful story for both the film and the theater.

The talented ensemble cast includes stars like Clark Gregg from *Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*, Ilana Glazer from *Broad City*, and a host of other acclaimed actors, each bringing their unique flair to the production. As if that wasn’t enough, the play has garnered five Tony Award nominations, with Clooney in the running for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play. (Fun fact: Despite the black-and-white press images, the broadcast itself showcased the vibrant production in color!)
