As the multiplayer excitement in Destiny 2 heats up with the introduction of the ‘Court of Blades’ activity in Act 2, players are rushing to experience this deep and engaging mode. Unlike the previous ‘Court of Oryx’ from Destiny 1, the ‘Court of Blades’ offers a new level of tactical play, making it a must-try for Guardians who are up for a challenge.

Although I typically shy away from non-matchmade Expert modes, the thrill of the ‘Court of Blades’ has compelled me to dive in. Even after acquiring the gear I wanted, the fun of experimenting with various builds keeps me engaged. Here are some effective strategies for those struggling to achieve victory in this challenging environment.

Understand the Modifiers

It’s essential to familiarize yourself with the modifiers in each round. While it may seem tedious to check the statues, knowing the augments is crucial, as they often provide specific advantages for overcoming boss shields or negating immunity. A little preparation can save you a lot of frustration.

Prioritize the Extra Ammo Perk

Having an extra ammo perk is vital for success. The intense nature of these encounters means you'll likely rely heavily on special and heavy weapons. Ensure your team can maximize ammo supply between rounds; this advantage can be the difference between defeat and triumph.

Stick to Electric, Void, or Strand Builds

While other elemental builds can work, this season’s artifact mods and the Tome enhancements make Electric, Void, and Strand builds particularly potent. Consider the following powerful setups:

Warlock Build

For maximum damage output, pair the Chaos Reach super with Geomag Stabilizers and Delicate Tomb fusion rifle. The synergy between these items allows for constant super uptime and devastating chain reactions — a lethal combination that can melt bosses with ease.

Titan Build

Utilize the Barrow Dyad SMG coupled with the Peacekeepers and Storm’s Keep. This configuration not only amplifies SMG damage on successive hits but allows Titans to unleash upwards of 10-15 million damage in a single run, purely with primary weapons. It’s a phenomenal strategy for quickly dispatching bosses.

Hunter Build

My current favorite Hunter setup uses the new SMG and focuses on the Strand mods. While I haven’t found the perfect build yet, the versatility of Hunters allows for significant contributions with quick strikes and mobility.

Utilize the Microcosm Trace Rifle

The Microcosm is a game-changer. With its artifact damage boosts always active, pairing it with Storm’s Keep enhances your team's ability to dismantle tough foes. Imagine having three in a fireteam — your boss encounters will be over before you know it.

Leverage Seasonal Weapons

Don't overlook the seasonal weapons that will often be overcharged for increased damage. Their unique perks, including special mods to deliver extra Taken missiles, can turn the tide in battle.

Equip Anti-Barrier Weapons During Taken Week

My go-to options for tackling the dangerous Taken Bound Captains are Heavy Sidearms. These weapons can bypass their shields, allowing for effective long-range engagement. Always match your weapon element to the enemy shields for optimal effectiveness—Arc is your best bet against most enemies.

With these strategies in hand, you're better equipped to conquer the ‘Court of Blades’. Adapt, experiment, and share your own tips as the community thrives on collaboration. Good luck, Guardians!
