It’s official: the enchanting skins from the hit League of Legends adaptation, Arcane, will not be making a comeback to Fortnite anytime soon! If you were hoping to rock Jinx and Vi’s styles once more, you may be waiting indefinitely.

Marc Merrill, co-creator of League of Legends and co-chairman of Riot Games, broke the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "We’ve had a lot of conversations with Epic about what might be possible. They’ve been great partners, but unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find the right fit to bring the Arcane skins back. It won’t be happening in the foreseeable future." This response comes after an overwhelming demand from fans who’ve been eagerly asking for the skins’ return.

First introduced in Fortnite during Chapter 2: Season 8 to coincide with Arcane's spectacular Netflix debut in late 2021, the skins were available for players before vanishing entirely by February 2022. Fans have clamored for their return ever since, leading to Merrill’s heartfelt comments.

Reflecting on the initial collaboration, Merrill shared, "When we first teamed up with Epic to bring Jinx and Vi to Fortnite, it was a new kind of crossover for us, and we hope it helped make the launch feel truly special. We know there’s been a lot of love for these skins, and we sincerely appreciate how much you care and how hard you’ve worked to advocate for their return. If anything changes in the future, we’ll let you know ASAP!"

As Fortnite continues to expand its universe, devouring intellectual properties from every corner, this announcement leaves many fans disheartened. With Arcane's second season set to air in November 2024, the hope remains that perhaps someday, these skins could rise from the ashes.
