In a touching display of community support, cancer patient Brian Woods recently received a new e-bike after his original one was stolen from his home. This bike was crucial for Woods, using it to travel to the Royal Inland Hospital for his treatments.

The emotional journey began on August 28, when Woods shared his story with radio host Omen. After airing Woods' heartfelt call and posting it on social media, a wave of generosity swept through Kamloops.

Swift Support from Local Heroes

Within no time, Elisha Noyes from ASK Wellness offered Woods a ride to his medical appointments. Following this, realtor David Payne, along with executive director Derek Strokon and marketing manager Steve “Steak” Andres, swiftly raised enough funds to purchase a new e-bike from District Bicycle Company, which was sold at cost.

Embracing Kindness in Tough Times

Omen expressed how heartwarming it was to witness the community's willingness to help. "This is something different that really warms my heart," he remarked. "It highlights the incredible spirit of Kamloops whenever someone is in need."

Strokon shared his sentiments, saying, "While it’s sad that Brian is facing treatment and had his bike stolen, it’s important to focus on the good. When the community comes together, amazing things happen." Andres echoed this, hoping their actions might inspire others to lend a hand in their own lives.

Woods was visibly touched when the rock-n-roll convoy arrived at his downtown home to deliver the e-bike. He embraced each supporter and expressed his heartfelt gratitude. "I was almost in tears. It’s like winning the lottery! This bike is essential for my hospital trips and I rely on it heavily," he shared, feeling rejuvenated and hopeful.
