Vancouver was buzzing with laughter this past weekend as the Great Outdoor Comedy Festival concluded, drawing some of the biggest names in comedy. Headliner John Mulaney was sighted at the vibrant Lunch Lady, a beloved Vietnamese culinary gem.

Mulaney was not alone; he dined in style alongside comedy titans Nick Kroll, Mike Birbiglia, and Fred Armisen, delighting fans with an impromptu appearance at the popular eatery. Adding to the star-studded night, famed comedians Zach Galifianakis and Jason Mantzoukas joined the group, all sharing a memorable meal and posing for photos with the restaurant staff.

“What a blast! So glad we could catch up and enjoy a delicious dinner together at The Lunch Lady,” Kroll shared on Instagram, hinting that Galifianakis and Mantzoukas were in town for a Greek festival.

The Lunch Lady isn’t just a favorite for locals; it’s a celebrity hotspot that has welcomed stars like Seth Rogen, Bowen Yang, and Tzi Ma. The restaurant gained further acclaim after being featured in Anthony Bourdain's iconic travel show, 'No Reservations', showcasing Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh's incredible food stall in Vietnam.

Local owner Michael Tran, who first visited the Lunch Lady in 2012, was inspired to bring the taste of Vietnam to Canada after his life-changing experience there. Partnering with Thanh in 2018, they successfully launched the restaurant in Vancouver in 2020, making it a must-visit spot.

Meanwhile, Mulaney, Kroll, Birbiglia, and Armisen took the stage at Stanley Park for the festival, performing to thousands of enthusiastic fans at Brockton Point. The festival featured an impressive lineup including Bert Kreischer and Tony Hinchcliffe, delivering laughter-filled performances throughout the weekend.

“Thank you to all the fantastic Canadian crowds this summer!” Kroll added on social media.
