"It was like losing the mom she had to this f--king thing. And the more she's gotten older now, I think the more it's hurting her," Applegate candidly expressed.

Diagnosed with MS in 2021, Christina explained that Sadie's memories of her mother were all of health and activity—running, dancing, and being a Peloton enthusiast. The onset of the disease marked a stark and painful shift for both of them.

"Now, I see her look at me when I'm in bed and can't quite move or get down the hallway. I can barely get to the bathroom some days, and it’s broken her," Christina continued, highlighting the stark reality her family faces.

"When we’re out, she knows I’m having a tough time, and she always has my arm, trying to help me with my cane. At home, she asks me to make her food because no one else can do it like I can." In a candid update, she told PEOPLE that her condition is still evolving, stating, "I'm home and have been treated for the kidney infection. It’s a work in progress. I was there for 7 days."
