In a shocking turn of events, local authorities have arrested two men linked to a series of terrifying kidnappings and robberies that unfolded in Brampton, Peel Region. This alarming case has left the community reeling as police delve deeper into the disturbing incidents.

The Dark Side of Social Media

The Peel Regional Police (PRP) reported that between April and May, three separate occurrences transpired where victims were lured through social media under false pretenses. What began as innocent online interactions quickly escalated into violence.

A Violent Encounter

Upon meeting these men, victims were met with aggression, resulting in stolen property and, for two individuals, injuries severe enough to warrant hospitalization. Thankfully, their injuries were non-life-threatening, but the psychological impact remains.

Key Arrests Made

Following thorough investigations, police apprehended 20-year-old Abhijot Singh from Brampton and 21-year-old Ridhampreet Singh from Mississauga on May 31. Both face serious charges: Abhijot Singh is charged with two counts of kidnapping and robbery involving a firearm, alongside additional charges of robbery and fraud. Meanwhile, Ridhampreet Singh is charged with related kidnapping and robbery offenses.

Ongoing Investigation

While these two suspects are in custody and have appeared in court, police warn that other unidentified suspects could still be at large. The PRP emphasizes the importance of vigilance when meeting individuals from online platforms.
