In a disturbing turn of events, a delivery driver from Brampton has been charged with sexual assault after allegedly attacking a customer in their Hamilton home.
The incident unfolded on the evening of April 3 at an apartment complex in Hamilton’s east end, specifically near the intersection of Barton Street East and Ottawa Street North.
According to the Hamilton Police Service (HPS), the 29-year-old driver, identified as Karanvir Singh, deceived the victim by requesting to use the restroom. Once inside the apartment, he allegedly committed the assault before fleeing the scene.
Authorities believe Singh may not be the only perpetrator, hinting at the possibility of other victims coming forward.
Following a thorough investigation by HPS’s Sex Crimes Unit, Singh was apprehended on April 30 in Brampton and subsequently brought back to Hamilton, where he faces a charge of sexual assault.
This troubling investigation remains open as police encourage anyone who may have experienced similar incidents to come forward. For those with information, Detective Michal Buszkowski of HPS’s Sex Crimes Unit can be reached at 905-546-4527, or tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
