York Regional Police reported that the suspect struck multiple businesses at a plaza near Clark Avenue and Hilda Avenue on April 18. The released video paints a vivid picture: a solitary figure steps out of a white sedan, approaches a business, and within moments, shatters the glass front door with a hefty wrench.

Amidst the chaos, shards of glass litter the floor as the suspect swiftly makes his way inside, absconding with the cash register—thermal paper flapping behind like a telltale confetti as he makes his hasty escape.

Targeting Vulnerable Businesses?

Reports indicate that the suspect specifically zeroed in on cash registers at businesses lining the plaza. Vaughan's Mayor Steven Del Duca took to social media, suggesting these break-ins appeared to target Jewish-owned establishments, which he characterized as an alarming attempt to intimidate the community.
