Former President Bill Clinton has been hospitalized at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. after experiencing a fever. The 78-year-old was admitted on Monday afternoon for necessary tests and observation, as confirmed by Angel Urena, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff.
Urena reassured the public, stating, “He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.” This is not the first time Clinton's health has come under scrutiny, as the former president has a history of medical issues since leaving office in 2001.
Notably, Clinton underwent quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 following chest pains and shortness of breath. Just a year later, he had surgery for a partially collapsed lung and later had two stents implanted in 2010 to address coronary artery blockage. Despite these health challenges, Clinton adopted a largely vegan diet, which has reportedly contributed to his weight loss and improved overall health.
In 2021, Clinton faced another health scare, spending six days in a California hospital for a urological infection that had spread to his bloodstream. Fortunately, he was never in septic shock during that hospitalization and has since recovered.
In addition to his health challenges, Clinton remains active in politics. Earlier this summer, he addressed the Democratic National Convention in Chicago and supported the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris in her unsuccessful bid for the presidency ahead of the November elections.
As updates emerge about Clinton's condition, many are eager to see him make a swift recovery and return to his engagements, especially given his continued involvement in public life and political discourse.
