In a shocking oversight, Apple’s App Store allowed a pirated mobile version of the much-anticipated game *Blue Prince* to slip through the cracks, leaving many gamers duped into paying for a fake.

The official developers, Dogubomb, alongside publisher Raw Fury, issued a warning about unauthorized copies of *Blue Prince* appearing on iOS. Currently, the game is exclusively available on platforms like Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Curiosity led me to search for *Blue Prince* on the App Store, where I discovered the off-brand version as the top result. The app's icon and description cleverly mimicked the original, with enticing screenshots that seemed genuine.

However, a closer look revealed red flags: the app was attributed to a developer named Samet Altinay, who had no known connection to the game, and the copyright was inaccurately labeled as 'DogBomb,' missing the critical letter 'u'.

I couldn't resist the temptation and purchased the dubious app for $9.99, installing it on my iPhone 16 Pro. At first, it appeared to be a shoddy knockoff of *Blue Prince*, complete with a virtual joystick for easier mobile gameplay. But soon enough, I encountered a game-breaking bug—falling right through the floor while attempting to walk through the Entrance Hall doors!

Before Apple yanked the fake version, it managed to snag the #8 spot in the paid Entertainment category, despite only having mixed reviews, with at least one other user experiencing a similar glitch.

If you’re among those who mistakenly bought this clone, it's advisable to seek a refund through Apple’s support page.

As for *Blue Prince*, Dogubomb and Raw Fury have confirmed there are currently no plans for an iOS release, stating, "We will make an official announcement if that changes. Please refrain from downloading these unauthorized apps while we investigate." They previously faced similar issues with copycats of popular titles like *Wordle* and *Palworld*.

In the latest update, the counterfeit *Blue Prince* app has been officially removed from the App Store. But the incident raises serious concerns about the vigilance of app store reviews in protecting consumers.
