In a startling turn of events, Halifax Regional Police have confirmed the capture of a suspect following a frightening weapons complaint in Clayton Park.

On Friday morning around 10 a.m., officers rushed to Thomas Raddall Drive after receiving alarming reports of a man threatening another individual with a weapon in the 160 block.

Thanks to swift police action, the suspect was detained by approximately 10:40 a.m., bringing a sense of relief to the community.

In light of the potential danger, precautionary measures were taken, leading to a temporary hold-and-secure at Halifax West High School and the nearby Canada Games Centre. Thankfully, this lockdown was later lifted without incident.

Fortunately, officials reported no physical injuries from this distressing encounter, but the incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of community safety.
